改善された飲料水源には、水道水、保護された井戸、雨水などが含まれます。利用状況は世帯調査や国勢調査から収集され、JMP(WHO/UNICEF共同モニタリングプログラム)がデータを分析し、都市部と農村部別に線形回帰を用いて推定値を算出します。飲料水の質やアクセスの利便性を評価し、安全に管理されたサービスを利用できる人口を定量化します。この指標は、SDGsの目標達成や貧困削減の進捗を測る重要な尺度です。
